Key Features

βœ“600W Solar Panels. Monocrystalline panels for efficient sunlight capture in all-weather conditions, charging batteries in 6-8 hours of sunlight.
βœ“Ritar PWM Charge Controller. 20-50A PWM controller with LCD display, overcharge, deep discharge, overload, and short-circuit protection; supports 12V/24V systems.
βœ“Ritar Batteries. Deep cycle AGM or Gel (e.g., 150-200Ah 12V), sealed, maintenance-free, with high cyclic life (up to 10-15 years floating design).
βœ“Primary Use. Powers a 32β€³ LED TV (50-100W, or 11-13W for DC models), 4 LED bulbs, and small devices like phone chargers or small fans.
βœ“PWM Efficiency. Ensures safe, cost-effective charging for basic loads; suitable for low-power appliances but less efficient than MPPT in low-light conditions.
βœ“Daily Usage. 8-12 hours for TV (32β€³ LED) and 4 LED bulbs combined, depending on battery capacity (e.g., 150-200Ah) and sunlight availability.

Frequently Asked Questions β€” Solar Panels

Sizing, cloudy-day performance, connections and warranty.

What size solar panel do I need?

Start from your daily energy use in kWh. In Kenya a panel produces roughly its rated watts x 5 peak sun hours x 0.8 per day β€” so a 200W panel gives ~0.8 kWh/day and a 400W panel ~1.6 kWh/day. Divide your daily kWh by that figure, then add 20% for cable and inverter losses.

Will it work on cloudy days?

Yes, at reduced output. Heavy cloud can cut output to a small fraction of the rating; light cloud cuts it far less. Size the array and battery bank with 30-40% margin if you need dependable power through cloudy spells.

Monocrystalline or polycrystalline β€” which is better?

Monocrystalline panels are more efficient (18-23%) and use limited roof space better. Polycrystalline is slightly less efficient and cheaper. Check the cell type in the specifications above.

What do I need besides the panel?

For a battery system you need: a charge controller (MPPT preferred), a battery, and for AC appliances an inverter. Solar cable and DC breakers complete the set.
