What size solar water heater does my family need?
Plan on roughly 40–50 litres of hot water per person per day. A family of four therefore needs about 200 litres, and larger households or guest houses need more.
Does it work on cloudy days?
It still heats, but less. If you need hot water every day, choose a model with a backup electric element or add one.
Pressurised or non-pressurised: which should I choose?
Pressurised systems work at mains pressure, so showers behave normally, and cost more. Non-pressurised (gravity-fed) systems are cheaper and need a feed tank above the heater.
