Frequently Asked Questions
What are the main specifications of the 63A Solar 2 Pole DC MCB?
Key details: Rated Current: 63 A; Pole: 2P; Rated Voltage: 250V / 415V; Max Fuse that can be connected to: 100 AGL (ห 10kA); Working Ambient Temperature: -5ยฐC to 40ยฐC. See the Key Features and Specifications sections above for the full list.
What size solar panel do I need?
Start from your daily energy use in kWh. A panel produces roughly its rated watts ร 5 peak sun hours ร 0.8 per day in Kenya, so a 200W panel gives about 0.8 kWh and a 400W panel about 1.6 kWh. Divide your daily kWh by that figure to count panels, then add 20% for cable and inverter losses.
Will a solar panel work on cloudy days?
Yes, at reduced output. Heavy cloud can cut output to a small fraction of the rating, while light cloud cuts it far less. Size the array and battery bank with some margin if you need dependable power through cloudy spells.
Monocrystalline or polycrystalline: which is better?
Monocrystalline panels are generally more efficient (roughly 18โ23%) and make better use of limited roof space. Polycrystalline panels are usually a little less efficient and cheaper. Check the cell type in the specifications above.
How many panels do I need to charge a 200Ah 12V battery?
A 200Ah 12V battery holds about 2.4 kWh. Recharging half of it (1.2 kWh) in 5 peak sun hours needs roughly 300W of panels after losses, so 400W gives a comfortable margin. For a 24V bank of the same Ah, double the figure.
What else do I need besides the panel?
For a battery system you need a charge controller, a battery and, for AC appliances, an inverter. Properly rated solar cable and DC breakers complete the set. Call or WhatsApp us and we will list everything for your load.
