Frequently Asked Questions
What are the main specifications of the 35.0MM x 4 Core Armoured Cable?
Key details: The Railway and Transport industry; Underneath roads powering buildings; Industrial networks such as power plants and factories; Within cable ducting in the roofs of warehouses; Plain Annealed Stranded Copper for the conductors/cores,. See the Key Features and Specifications sections above for the full list.
What cable size do I need?
Cable size depends on the current and the run length. As a common rule, 1.5mm² suits lighting circuits, 2.5mm² suits socket circuits, and larger sizes suit cookers, water heaters and long runs. Have an electrician confirm.
What is the difference between flex and armoured cable?
Flex cable is flexible for appliances and extensions. Armoured cable has a steel layer for buried or exposed fixed installations.
Is a longer cable a problem?
Longer runs lose more voltage, so use a larger size on long runs, especially for pumps and motors.
